The transformed GSA Annual Scientific Meeting experience is underway. Although the official dates of the meeting are November 4 to 7, our pre-conference events have been unfolding throughout the month of October.
We’re only halfway through. There is still time to connect and engage through a host of events.
Here’s what we have lined up for you:
Networking with colleagues. Join interest group meetings, webinars, section business meeting & award presentations, and pre-conference workshops. Visit GSA’s website for the full schedule, which has already begun.
And if you haven’t yet registered for the Annual Scientific Meeting Online — GSA’s most accessible meeting ever — don’t delay!
Ease of participation: GSA made the commitment that any scholar with an accepted abstract would have the ability to present during the meeting. As long as you have a laptop, tablet, or mobile phone, you’ll be able to participate. The elimination of meeting-related travel and hotel expenses means that engaging in the 2020 meeting has few barriers. And take a look at pages 6 and 7 in the October issue of Gerontology News to become familiar with how the meeting will flow.
Interactivity with other scholars: Reimaging the interactivity that happens during sessions led to the creation of new Presenter Discussions where interested meeting attendees can connect in real time with session presenters. And for the first time at a GSA meeting, poster presenters will have a forum for a group dialog.
Access to programming for two months: Meeting content will be available beginning October 28 to enable registrants to enjoy the programming for one week before the official Opening Plenary Session on November 4. This will enable attendees to select which of the Presenter Discussions noted above they wish to attend. And meeting content will remain available until the end of 2020.
