George Sacher Student Award
The George Sacher Student Award is given to the best student paper or poster contribution by a GSA member at the Society's Annual Scientific Meeting. George Sacher served as President of the Society in 1979.
The award is designed to encourage research and to foster interest among students in the Biological Sciences section to play an active role in the Society's annual meetings. A paper or poster must be submitted prior to the deadline.
Submission Period
Summer 2024
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Student or Transitional member (ESPO) of the society.
- Must submit an abstract for the Annual Scientific Meeting.
- The abstract must be accepted for the conference.
- The student must present the work at the Annual Scientific Meeting.
- Paper or poster must be submitted before the deadline.
Self Nomination Process
Required Nomination Packet Materials:
- Two copies of your paper (one blinded, one not)
- Letter from student's advisor
- Abstract control ID number
Nature of Award
The recipient receives $500, a certitificate, and will be recognized at the Biological Sciences Section Business Meeting and section lunch at the Annual Scientific Meeting.
